St. Joseph’s Healthcare System engaged FCA for System Master Planning services for their Patterson and Wayne campuses to assess and align key clinical services to the strategic plan for each campus, and create the future of facility expansion. At the Patterson campus, this included the relationship of the hospital to the fabric of the city, specifically the development of the downtown area.
Elements that needed to be addressed in the Master Plan included an assessment of existing buildings owned or leased by the health system, in order to confirm existing use, identify concerns (code, maintenance, or similar), and evaluate their suitability for the intended uses. An opportunity assessment/feasibility analysis defined future changes in care delivery and identified locations and areas to accommodate them.
The Master Plan developed building and site concept plans for both campuses with proposed departmental areas, and renovations and additions. It identified phasing and implementation strategies for proposed development.
