Fox Rothschild desired a unique plan scheme and design presence for their new office, which also required a better and more appropriate location. The new office would encourage flexibility, remote working, and collaboration; it would contain a universal office size for use by attorneys and staff, and the design would reflect the energy and excitement of the local practice. FCA worked closely with Fox Rothschild and their brokers to select the appropriate building for the new Fox office. Ten potential sites were considered, and 2020 K Street was selected given its unique efficiency for Legal workplace, location, amenities, financial modeling, and an overall coolness factor.
Aesthetically, the goal of the new office was to create a timeless space with a nod to an industrial flair and hospitality accents. This was accomplished through the use of mixed materials, colors, and textures to create unique spaces and moments. A sophisticated color palette was selected, focusing on neutral colors, while utilizing pattern and texture for contrast. To enhance the design goals, the existing concrete columns were left exposed. A variety of wood tones were used to provide warmth in the space and to offset the industrial vibe, creating a balance between styles. To enhance collaboration and transparency, clear glass office fronts and doors were used throughout all private offices and meeting spaces.
