Activating the corner of Hamilton and Howard, this new five-story, wood-framed residence with views of the Thames River marks the epicenter of New London’s renaissance. Amenities such as an all-seasons pool, outdoor theater, roof deck, and climbing wall create the backdrop for a thriving community.
The existing site posed significant challenges. Through weekly programming and design meetings, the team was able to overcome them and create a balanced design that positioned the building to be justified with the adjacent street and activate the streetscape.
Designed to revitalize this New London waterfront neighborhood, The Beam reimagines underutilized acreage with new fully accessible and vibrant housing that provides desirable homes for young professionals and families and stimulates retail, restaurant, and business development.
