The new Medical Sciences Building’s architectural and engineering systems were designed for anticipated vertical expansion for future hospital uses, including bed space. Its innovative design unifies the disparate architectural styles of previous structures and provides a signature building at a very prominent urban intersection.
The new lab consolidated the functions of two remote existing labs at the main campus; it is contiguous to the existing main hospital and features direct access to the new Frozen Section Lab. Additionally, new automated systems include two robotic lines integrating new and existing analyzers with particular emphasis on quality control, safety, and staff design.
